Nuts

After my foray into foraging, I commend a beautifully written plea by Geoffrey Humphrys in Co-operative News w for us to eat British nuts at Christmas. Chestnuts, acorns, hazels, cobs or filberts…

Non-native nuts include Brazil nuts (surprise, surprise) and Walnuts – the word ‘wal’ in fact comes from an old English word meaning ‘from strange lands’.

All happy cracking for Christmas.
